Ricks Accident

Rick was driving home from work on his scooter yesterday when a four wheel drive did a U-turn in front of him. He was taken by the ambo's to logan Hospital and was there for six and a half hours. His knee was cut down to the bone, he had gravel rash every where and burns from the exhaust on his bike (which he landed on after flying through the air) He was nearly going to have surgery on his knee but they decided against it at the last minute. He has stitches on his knee and bandages everywhere. He was making friends with everyone who saw him, very loopy on the pain medication!

Rick and i have been without the internet since 27th February. We SHOULD have it back up again in a couple of days. We have moved into our new house and the internet company keeps messing us around with our new connection. In the mean time i have been making do on Mum and Dad's computer and my mates laptops.

Being with out the internet is a lot harder than i initially thought it would be. Probably even more so because my position was made redundant at work and i had to look for another job. But Rick and i also did a lot more online than we realized: Shopping, internet banking, watching tv shows that we can't get in Aus, downloading music for our computer and downloading our many many videos onto youtube.

So...when we officialy have the internet again, alot of the video's we have made and photos we have taken will be uploaded onto blogspot, facebook, myspace, youtube, etc.

We will also updateeveryone with what we have been getting up to, but were not much for words, when we have awesome videos to show!

As Rick is doing alot of shift work lately (5mins away) he bought himself a sexy scooter! The jury is still out, but him n his mate can't get enough!

Lucy had her kittens!

This is the first kitten born. His name is bruiser. He moves around a lot more than the others, he kinda fights the others for a drink. Our mate Joshi has dibbs on him, so we will get to see him grow up.

This is the only girl of the group. Her name is pipin. She is a little smaller but still very strong.

This is the runt of the litter. His name is Bruce. He got stuck coming out and we had to intervene. That is why he has a longer neck than the others, he is much smaller than the others, but he is healthy and a loud squeaker. Rick and i have decided to keep him.

This was the last one born. His name is Johnson. He moves around allot more than the others, even though none of them have there eyes open, he struggles his all around the room. He always goes back to his mum, but he is a bit of an adventurer.

Lucy was buggered, but she is doing very well now. (She did have five babies, but unfortunately one of them passed away)

I will add more photos when they open there eyes and look cuter!

Christmas!

This year Rick and I celebrated Christmas with his family.

First we went to a BBQ with Ricks old high school mates, it was a really great night and i met lots of new people and heard some funny stories about Rick's high school years.

We then went to Sydney for two days! I have never really been, so we did all of the tourist things and took heaps of photos! (slide show to follow soon) We stayed with Ricks Aunty and Uncle in Sydney and they showed us some hidden places we would have otherwise missed: a great German pub and a chocolate restaurant!!!

We then spend a few days at Ricks dad's house, Rick's mums house and his sibling's house. We had a few days of Christmas all spread out to make sure that everyone could enjoy all of the love, food, and prezzies!

We drove for about 8hours in horrible traffic and stopped at Coffs Harbor, and camped with a mate of ours. We played cricket on the beach and then Rick and i squashed in a one person tent with no oxygen. When we woke up the next morning we drove for another 4hours and picked up our heavily pregnant kitty and were finally home!!!

Cedar Creek Falls

Today we went to cedar creek falls. It is on mount tambourine, and has rain forest all around. It's great to find these little spots for when it's summer.

(As soon as rick slid into the water, he announced that he had lost his wedding

ring! All the boys jumped in to help, after what felt like nearly and hour ( a couple of bottle caps and a really nice watch later) Rick found it!!! Very lucky)

We did this a few weeks ago! I though i had already put it up for everyone! Most

weekends now we like to go to the park, it's getting into some really nice weather

and it's always nice to get out of the house. Lately the boys have discovered the

joy of head butting, they can do it for hours! I'm happy for them

Bridge to Brisbane!

I ran 10k's!!! I am not fit at all but work asked us if we wanted

to take part in a marathon to benefit disabled children that have to be taken care of in elderly homes.

I thought the the cause was important and it would be good

motivation to get more fit. I got a personal trainer and trained

really hard. I had all of my boys there to cheer me on. I did the whole race and didn't need to take any breaks. (not sure if my body would have let me!)

My body went on auto pilot, when i stoped i realised that i had a masive blister on one foot, and one of my hips was really sore

I'm feeling heaps better now. I still won't know my official time for a few days, but i don't really mind because i feel really good about what i did.

Rick and Jesse's nana passed away earlier last week. She survived two heart attacks at 93 and was the best cook on earth. We drove down to Newcastle for the weekend. It was a beautiful funeral, and the wake was so much fun as all the family told fun stories about nanas cooking and her mannerisms (she was from lithuania, and some of her english translations were very funny)It is approx. a 9 hour drive, so on the way home we thought we would make some fun. I hope you enjoy running!

Recently lucy got a facial infection known as 'itchy face'. She scratched her self into a bloody mess so after a $140 visit to the vet we put a funnel on her head and she now has heaps of tablets and drops. Hopefully this will heal her facial scars and she wont be self conscious around any boy cats.

Random Facts

I (Elly) am in the process of getting my 'Austswim' swim teaching course. I did the practical the other weekend, it was long and hard, but i did like it heaps. I am now studding to take the exam and have set up my 20 hours volunteer time as a swim coaches assistant, i will then get an assessment from them and will be able to apply for my own license to teach swimming. Very exciting!

Rick has finished his security course and also his weapons training at the shooting range, he got to shoot off some awesome weaponry and managed to land all the bullets in the 'kill zone' those paper targets will rue the day they went up against Rick. Soon he can can work in the Armored guard transporting millions of dollars. (hopefully he wont do anything stupid) :p

Ricks younger brother Jesse will be coming up to live with us from Newcastle soon, stay tuned for more as this story unfolds.

And for those of you who don't know yet, Rick and i are trying for a baby, been trying now for nearly 7 months. Any handy hints (other than the obvious) are appreciated.

Hi all! Just updating on the new month of February. And what a month! So far I've woken up, and gone to work! Who knows what the rest of the month has in store! Rick just made me breakfast in bed. He made me cheese egg and bbq sauce muffins. Were so in love.

We got a brand new computer... a while ago, but we decided to mention it now on our third blog 'cause it just seems right. You can do all sorts of cool thing and some borning things, and some other things that i don't know if there things or not, but they're there and it freaks me out. i don't know how i would live if this computer was stolen by monkeys. I know! I'd be angry at monkeys for the rest of my life. And always carry a knife so if i ever stumble upon one we can have a mad as knife fight.

Back to the computer, it's an IMAC and it's nice. I'll never go back to crappy PC. PC stands for pretty crap, it should be call UC (ugly crap) IMAC should be called PC (pretty cool).

In the IMAC you can create all sorts of funky multimedia like the pictures above. I should be getting paid for this.. If you buy an IMAC tell them we sent you!

So now you know, IMAC's really are better than PC's just like they say in the adds, but know it comes from someone you trust. That's if you trust us.... dun dun dun.

Our newest edition

We would like to share with everyone, the newest edition to our family. She is called Lucy, she is a short haired cat of a bread unspecified.

She likes attacking hand and arms, and gently pawing faces. She has a black body with white accents, and teeth with a sharpness rating of seven out of ten sharpness bananas.

She loves pouncing at you from around the corner, and has a hard time fitting in with strangers. I just don't get her sometimes. The other day, i came home to find her chewing on some socks, i mean, what the hell is that?

Sometimes she'll pounce on you so vicious, you'll think she's part tiger, if you were a blind midget. she'll never take the place of Bernie and we don't want her to, but she doe's kick scooters butt. In conclusion, be nice to cats and they'll be nice to you.
